Module 2: What Defines our Success?
Vignette 1 | Synopsis
Measures of business success include strong financial measures and increasing productivity. While health centers also use these measures, they must be balanced against care that is accessible, coordinated, continuous, effective, and culturally appropriate for patients. Board members make sure that patients’ perspectives are priorities in defining measures of health centers’ success.

Vignette 2 | Synopsis
Services provided by community health centers go beyond the walls of the health center facility. Health centers do whatever it takes to improve the health of patients, including partnering with other organizations to meet patients’ needs for food or shelter. The input of board members is essential to understand unmet needs in communities and to assure that health centers have effective community partnerships.
