Module 4: What does it mean to be Community Based?
Vignette 1 | Synopsis
Community health centers’ locations of clinic sites, hours of operation, languages spoken by staff, and the range of services provided are defined by the communities they serve. Because health center board members work, study, and live in communities served by health centers, their observations, suggestions, and support are essential for health centers to effectively serve their communities.

Vignette 2 | Synopsis
Community health centers partner with a variety of community organizations to assure individuals have access to health care and other services. Board members assure access to these services by monitoring established relationships and collaborating with staff as needed to establish new partnerships.
